How To Start My Own Rat Catching Business

how to start my own rat catching business the first step is to contact the government agency that manages the pest control industry in your state.  Typically there are certification and licensing requirements to treat residential or commercial facilities. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) enforces federal pesticide regulations.

Purchase an existing pest control franchise or start your own.  Becoming franchised such as with Orkin gives the support and the name recognition. The downside of purchasing a franchise is the increased startup cost of your business.

Find what the going rate for your service would be.  The prices of your work need to be comparable to the prices that are being quoted by companies that you are competing against.  Call local pest control companies to compare prices.

You will need a mode of transportation. Choose a pick-up or utility vehicle capable of commercial use. Specialize your training in the area of rat control. To specialize in just rats means that you will most likely have to take some extra course.  When dealing with poisons or insecticides there is a course that needs to be accomplished in order to be certified.
